The famous setting of the Ave Maria text that is generally misattributed to Jacques Arcadelt was actually a transcription of his French chansons entitled Nous Voyons que les Hommes in which Pierre-Louis Dietsch added a bass line in the mid-19th Century and replaced the original French text with the Ave Maria text.
Most of these scores utilize SSATB voicing and are great for choirs with more treble voices than changed tenor or bass voices. Great for advanced choirs!
